Shelby Semmes


Shelby currently serves as an advisor to Fresh Advantage. She consults on trends in farmland protection and healthy food financing, and related funding and partnership opportunities relevant to Fresh Advantage program delivery and client advisory services.

As a Project Manager with The Trust for Public Land, Shelby manages The Trust for Public Land’s conservation program in California’s Central Valley, an agriculturally rich region of the state.  She also serves on The Trust for Public’s Land’s impact investment advisory committee.

She holds a Masters degree from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies where she was a Doris Duke Conservation Fellow, and Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Economics from Barnard College.
